The New York Company Restaurant and bar (formerly Banducci’s at Morongo & Palm Canyon), currently owned by El Mirasol has been sitting closed for most of the 6 years that I have lived in Palm Springs, is finally coming back to life! Not sure if there will be a name change or ownership change but, according to the workers there, it should be opening in the next month! Great for Tahquitz River Estates neighborhood!

The neighborhood sits on both sides of the Tahquitz "wash" just south of central Palm Springs. It was not always called Tahquitz River Estates. In the early 1930's, the first development was called Palos Verdes Estates and is still populated with charming "Old Palm Springs" Spanish revival homes. Some of these bungalows were under construction even before Palm Springs became incorporated back in 1938!
